About

The Green Book is an annual business directory published in June and distributed throughout the year. All advertisers are also listed on this corresponding website, www.BizWithHeart.com. It’s a free publication that is the trusted resource guide for the caring consumer – local and visitor alike! You don’t have to be an eco-friendly business to be in the book, but you need to have a heart for what you do, run your business with integrity, care about and support your community and have outstanding customer service.

Since 1991, folks in Southern Oregon and Northern California have looked to The Green Book as a community service and shopping directory for high integrity goods and services. The Green Book offers the luxury of describing businesses in 40 words (listings), in addition to a wide variety of display ad sizes and types. All listings are on the website for no additional charge.

Larissa Owens is the owner/publisher of this annual publication and keeps this service reasonably priced by doing the majority of the work herself (along with her young daughter) including sales, graphic design, layout of the book and distribution. She bought it March 2005 from the founding owner/publisher, Nancy Andersen Powell, who started the publication in Ashland, Oregon. The book started out as The Directory of Natural Choices but was renamed The Green Book a couple of years later. The print edition is distributed throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California year round. A complete list is available on this website.

An annual cover photo contest is held for the print edition. That photo is also featured on our home page. This contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers and the deadline is usually in January. Please email or call for more details.

Graphic design services are also offered year round. Please call or e-mail for a price quote.

Please feel free to call or e-mail us with any questions or comments about our services.
